About me

IMGP5560_fullsizeHi! My name is Danika, an English teacher based in Western Australia, who has spent 3 years living on the west coast of Sweden.

I am a qualified English teacher with experience as a private tutor across multiple levels and ages. My students have included beginners who have only started to be exposed to the language, as well as advanced speakers who want to polish their English for work, from the ages of 3 to 40 and across a variety backgrounds and experiences.

Method – I prefer the immersion method, in which the classes are done in English, and I am otherwise completely flexible in terms of structure and style. Whatever your needs or requirements, I can match them. For international students I have experience with online lessons via Skype.

Experience – In addition to private tutoring with my own business, I have worked as a relief teacher at a number of adult colleges in the Gothenburg region and in Perth, and part-time with Berlitz International.

Education – I have a Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages with Teach International, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Murdoch University. In 2014 I completed SAS3 with Lernia Gothenburg.

When I’m not teaching or editing, I like to go for jogs in the forest, write my blog, have fika with friends and travel.

You can follow my blog, Travels and Trivia, or the VIA Language Services Facebook page to find out more about my life in Sweden and adventures in teaching.
